Dr. Selzer invited me to join her and another colleague to write about our experiences in a women’s leadership program for which we were all selected and successfully completed: WILD (Women’s Institute for Leadership Development). That was two years ago; since then, we have persisted through numerous edits and resubmissions. During this time, Dr. Selzer’s leadership and scholarship were crucial in our writing. Early on, it was clear to the three of us that she was going to serve as first author; however, her leadership went beyond just that role.
Dr. Selzer is one of the most hardworking, selfless people that we know. Although she was very busy teaching her new courses, she still made the time to coach us in our club. Dr. Selzer has instilled multiple qualities into the leaders of the club, such as: teamwork, organizational skills, leadership, time management, decision-making, and more. Through her guidance, by the end of the school year, we were able to come up with intriguing club meetings and events. Dr. Selzer exemplifies strong leadership and communication skills.
Collaborating with Dr. Robin Selzer over the past three years has been remarkably enriching and productive experience. Dr. Selzer’s leadership in developing PD1000, PD2001 and the INT3041 Pre-Health Internship series has created an excellent platform to support and engage learning for our University of Cincinnati students. Her passion and openness to other ideas, is contagious and we frequently bounce ideas off each other concerning our programs and students.
Dr. Selzer is a very strong professor. It's clear she has such a strong grasp and passion for subject as well as an appreciation for her students and a want to get to know them. I feel comfortable asking her questions or just stopping by her office. She is also firm and fair in her policies which I greatly appreciate. She was very clear in explanations of subjects as well as very organized and stuck to her syllabus.
Dr. Selzer is incredibly passionate about what she teaches. I've never doubted her sincerity and very much appreciate the genuine interest she has in my goals and accomplishments as an individual. She does a great job of facilitating discussion amongst her students. I always felt comfortable sharing my opinions in class and learning from my peers.
Dr. Selzer is a very passionate professor. She strives in developing a unique and vital curriculum for pre-med students and takes pride in seeing her students succeed. From personal experience, I have also seen that she wants to develop a personal relationship with each student to best help each and every one to succeed. Through her various connections within and outside of the University, she has personally helped me find ways to use my time at the University as effectively as possible.
Dr. Selzer is very passionate and learned in the field of the humanities and graduate school admission advising and thus makes an excellent professor for this course, as she can not only mentor the students and prepare them to prepare for the next four years of preparation for professional school as well as focus on her obvious passion of humanity through a type of social work/understanding and adapting a typical mindset of avoidance to a mindset of togetherness and understanding, remembering the human nature that we all share.
Doctor Selzer is an amazing professor, not only is she educated and passionate in her subject, she is a great person. I felt very comfortable approaching her with questions, she was educated and prepared on every subject, and even when she wasn't, she was always willing to follow up with more information. Her utilization of technology in the classroom was also helpful, and she opened up a lot of discussion in class.
Dr. Selzer provided as not only a professional figure for me to help advance in my undergraduate studies, but also as a friend who was going to support me in any decision or path I decided to take or follow. I was able to find myself better professionally and began to build a better network to help me reach my goals of which were supported regardless of how crazy they may sound now. I am very grateful to have taken this course for learning purposes but also glad I got to meet Dr. Selzer.
Dr. Selzer was amazing. There couldn’t have been a better teacher than her. She was clear with instructions and with the way that she discussed certain subjects. She was compassionate and taught our class some important life values and showed us that humans are compassionate.
Dr. Selzer is extremely approachable and helpful. She is an excellent resource, and she is very willing and eager to help her students succeed in all ways possible. In both this and the other course I took from her, Dr. Selzer was always ready to go the extra mile to help her students take advantage of new and positive opportunities. She truly has her students best interests at heart.
